The Barber County Sheriff's Office in Medicine Lodge is now accepting applications for the position of Emergency Communications Dispatcher. This is a FULL TIME position. Dispatchers currently work 12 hour shifts with a 3 day weekend every other weekend. The selected candidate may be required to work nights and holidays depending on the needs of the agency.
TYPE: Full Time
SALARY: Pay is $12.50 per hour plus benefits to include paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, health and life insurance.
The selected candidate must be dependable, have a strong and proven work ethic and the ability to work under sometimes stressful situations. Requires excellent verbal communication and listening skills, ability to type 30 words per minute, be computer literate and have the ability to multi-task. Must be 18 years of age or older, high school graduate or equivalent, valid Kansas driver license, ability to complete certification courses paid for by the Barber County Sheriff's Office and pass a thorough background check and drug screening. Barber County residency is preferred.
