The Elk County Sheriff’s Office is taking applications for the position of Deputy. Deputies work directly with the public by responding to calls, taking reports (criminal offenses and traffic accidents), performing building checks, educating the public in how to prevent crime, enforcing Kansas criminal and traffic laws, serving civil process, serving arrest warrants, and various other services.
TYPE: Full Time
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The applicant must have any combination of experience and training equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree. A minimum of 5 years law enforcement experience is required; with 3 years of law enforcement experience at a supervisory or command level. The candidate must hold a current Full-Time KLETC Certification, or be able to achieve this thru reciprocity. A valid Kansas driver’s license is also required.
