Hamilton County is a small rural community on the Colorado border and is approximately 997 square miles with a population of approximately 2,690. The Deputy Sheriff is responsible for the enforcement of law, maintenance of order, prevention of crime and protection of life and property. The Deputy Sheriff’s position requires a high degree of independent judgment, strong decision making and problem solving. The Deputy Sheriff enforces all federal, state, and local laws while performing patrol duties. The Deputy Sheriff makes arrests, enforces traffic laws, transports prisoners, civil process service and investigates traffic accidents. The Deputy Sheriff will also have the opportunity to be part of an interdiction team.

Must be US citizen
