Position is located at the Joint Forces Headquarters Complex in Topeka, KS.
Incumbent is part of the Kansas National Guard Complex Protection Force, and provides security to the complex during a shift.
Provides protection of the installation complex, personnel, buildings, equipment, and grounds by performing 100% validation checks of all personnel entering the complex. During higher levels of alert, must perform physical inspection of vehicles prior to allowing entry.
Licensed to perform mobile patrol duties of the complex grounds.
Performs physical inspection of all complex doors to prevent unauthorized access, which requires physical foot patrol in certain areas.

SALARY: $17.39 hr with possible .50 shift differential
Requires proof of Graduation from High School or GED equivalency Diploma.
Requires a valid State of Kansas drivers license with no restrictions as a condition of employment.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Secret level as a contention of employment is required.
Required to bare arms in the performance of duties. Must qualify and maintain proficiency with duty weapons designated for use by Army directives.
Persons convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence are not eligible for position. Must be 21 years of age. No prior convictions of a felony by a civilian or military court except for minor traffic violations and similar infractions.
Must successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment.
Good physical condition is required with the ability to work long hours under difficult conditions when emergencies are declared by and authorized agent.
Graduate of either a US Army Military Police 95B school or USAF Security Forces Academy or Graduate of Kansas Law Enforcement Academy or equivalent from other States is Preferred.
