Dispatcher, Lane County Sheriff's Office

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for a full time dispatcher. Position available is currently for the night shift. Night shifts consist of a 12 hour shift, 8 PM to 8 AM with alternating 3 day weekends off. The Sheriff’s Office is looking to hire someone with computer abilities and previous experience in a dispatch environment would be a plus. Candidates will be expected to answer all 911 and administrative telephones, dispatch radio calls, run the state computer system and maintain the in-house computer system. Strong communications skill and the ability to keep composure under pressure are required.

Hours: Full Time

Salary: Starting rate of pay is $12.50/hr or higher depending on qualifications.


Qualifications: High school diploma or G.E.D. is required. Applicant must possess a valid Kansas driver’s license. Applicant cannot have any Felony or Domestic Violence Convictions. You will be required to pass a Drug test and a background investigation.
