The Lincoln County Sheriff Department is accepting applications for a full-time deputy sheriff. Lincoln County is a rural community located 45 miles northwest of Salina, Kansas with a population of 3500 citizens. Lincoln County has two excellent school systems and is a great place to raise a family. The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department consists of the Sheriff, Under Sheriff, 6 full-time deputies and a support staff of dispatchers and jailers. Primary responsibilities include patrolling local cities as well as the rural county, assisting with crime prevention, enforcing traffic laws and regulations, responding to emergency calls, investigating crimes and complaints, and issuing citations. SALARY: Starting range 30,000.00 - 32,500.00
Starting salary is dependent on experience and certification.

Applicant must be 21 years of age at time of appointment, possess a high school diploma or GED, have a valid driver’s license, be free of felony or serious misdemeanor conviction and be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen. KLETC certification is preferred. Applicant must have the ability to read, interpret and understand various law enforcement rules and policies, write clear and accurate reports, and communicate effectively with fellow employees, supervisors and the public. Successful applicants must reside in Lincoln County within 60 days of employment..
