Deputy Sheriff, Linn County Sheriff's Office

Linn County is a smaller community with a population of around 10,000. Our county is full of history, which includes several nationally known historical sights. Our county offers quick access to the Kansas City Metro area via US Highway 69. We are also home to superb hunting and finishing opportunities, including La Cygne Lake, which was just rated as one of the top 100 bass fishing lakes in the United States. 

The sheriff’s office is looking to hire someone with previous certification as a Kansas law enforcement officer, but certification is not required for a starting deputy. Position will include performing routine patrols, criminal investigations, arrest and traffic related duties. Deputy sheriff residency requirement may be waived.

All equipment will be supplied along with a take home vehicle.

TYPE:  Full Time

SALARY:  Starting salary is $16.43/hour plus benefits if previously certified. Hourly pay could be higher depending on applicant’s qualifications, certifications, and experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  High school diploma or G.E.D. is required. Applicant must possess a valid Kansas driver’s license. Applicant cannot have any felony or domestic violence convictions to include any diversions or expungements. Applicant must be 21 years of age to apply. You will be required to pass a physical as well as a drug and alcohol test.
