The City of Medicine Lodge is a community of approximately 2,100 people located in Barber County in the beautiful Gypsum Hills area of South Central Kansas. We are currently seeking qualified applicants to fill the position of Police Officer. We have 5 sworn full time law enforcement officers, and one part-time. The MLPD works in close partnership with the Barber County Sheriff Department and affords an opportunity for the right person to have close community involvement while engaging in professional, progressive law enforcement services. The MLPD is focused on the delivery of uncompromising integrity and honor in service. Only applicants willing to embrace hard work with a service centered agency need apply.

KLETC certified or reciprocity eligible officers are preferred but training will be provided for the right candidate.
A high school diploma or GED is required. Individuals with Post-secondary hours are encouraged to apply. Employment is contingent upon passing an initial interview with the Chief of Police, oral board interview, extensive background investigation, physical, drug and alcohol screen, and psychological testing.
