Communications Officer, Oakley Police Department

The Oakley Police Department Communications Center dispatches for two full counties in the state of Kansas.  We are looking for a motivated individual who is able to work well in a team setting.  On the job training is available to the right candidate.  The police department offers up to a 4% raise per year depending on merit.

TYPE:  Full Time

SALARY:  Varies by experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Must be 18 years or older, have no felony convictions or certain misdemeanor convictions, have a high school diploma or GED, and have or be able to obtain a Kansas Driver's License. All applicants must pass a background check. Employee must be able to obtain NCIC (National Crime Information Center) certification, obtain EMD (Emergency Medical Dispatch) certification, and CPR certification at the cost and time of the department once hired.

Applicants should have a good working knowledge of computers, technology, and maps. Applicants should possess quick problem solving and decision making skills as well as be able to multi-task. This job requires good personal relations with the general public, co-workers, and supervisory personnel. Several weeks of on the job training and some written testing will be required if hired.
