Police Officer, Rose Hill Police Department

The Rose Hill Police Department is seeking highly motivated applicants  to join our team as a police officer.  The City of Rose Hill  does offer an excellent benefit package which includes health insurance, KPERS, 13 paid holidays, paid sick leave, paid vacation leave and a great working environment.  Our police department strongly emphasizes a community policing philosophy and is committed to providing quality law enforcement services.  The Rose Hill Police Department serves a population of approximately 4,000 residents.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: patrol work, assisting with the prevention of crime, enforcement of traffic laws and regulations, report preparation, making arrests, and issuing citations. Shift schedules will include some weekends, nights, holidays, overtime and court appearances.

Hours: Full Time

Salary: We provide a competitive hourly salary, with paid overtime and paid holidays.  However, the starting pay will be dependent on the qualifications of the successful candidate. 

Non-Certified officers starting rate is $17.40/hour and Kansas Certified starting rate is $17.92/hour.  Additional rates are considered depending on experience.

Qualifications: REQUIREMENTS:
Must be 21 years of age
Must be in good physical and mental health
Must possess a valid Kansas Driver’s License
Must possess a High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalent
Must be a United States citizen
Must not have a history of criminal or improper personal conduct that may affect suitability for performing police work.
Certified Law Enforcement is preferred, but not required.
Applicants will be subject to written and physical agility tests, a thorough background check, and various other pre-employment testing to include a psychological evaluation, drug screening and polygraph exam.
