We are looking to expand our
ranks with a highly qualified,
community-oriented Court Clerk/
Code Enforcement Officer.
As a Court Clerk for the City of Saint George you will process legal documents, schedule cases and hearings, audit files for accuracy and ensure consistent records are kept at all times. Clerks handle payments for fees, fines and court costs and perform a high level of customer service when dealing with the public. You will maintain the docket of scheduled cases and record all information when a case is completed as well as submit information to KBIRS, DMV and other agencies as needed.
As a Code Enforcement Officer for the City of Saint George you will independently perform a full range of municipal code enforcement and compliance duties. Interpret and apply applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations related to zoning, nuisance abatement, and health and safety issues. Enforce pertinent codes, ordinances, laws, and regulations with impartiality and efficiency.
We are looking for someone that is competent, self-motivated, skilled, organized, familiar with office technology, and prefer someone that is familiar with Jayhawk Court Software. You need excellent communication skills and must be comfortable dealing with the public. This position often deals with complaints, hostile individuals and diverse members of the public regarding questions or court procedure issues. You MUST be able to provide service with a smile.

SALARY: $29,120/year ($14.00/hour & eligible for overtime) + 100% employer paid employee BC/BS health insurance, Dental 50/50, $250/year vision reimbursement, KPERS, 40 hours vacation 1st year (80 beginning 2nd year) with 96 hours sick/year, and 12 paid holidays per year.

•Must have a valid Kansas driver's license with a good driving record;
•Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; Prefer an associate’s degree or higher
•Must not have been convicted of a crime of domestic violence, serious traffic or any felony or its equivalent under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
An extensive background investigation including previous employment history, references (both listed and unlisted), criminal history, and driving record will be conducted in addition to a drug screen.
