The Scott County Sheriff's Office is currently seeking a motivated individual for the position of Deputy Sheriff within out agency. Scott County has a population of 5000 people and is positioned in Western Kansas. Our major highways are 83 North and South and Highway 96 East and West. We have 718 square miles and the Scott County Lake to patrol. Primary responsibilities includes but not limited to patrol work, responding to emergency and dispatched calls, conducting investigations, interviewing, gathering evidence, serving warrants, civil process, enforcing traffic laws, enforcing federal, state and local laws, preparing reports. The candidate must have the ability to problem solve and act without direct supervision and exercise independent judgment in handling calls and emergencies. Deputies have their own take home patrol vehicle, health insurance and KEPER'S Retirement. Deputies work a 9 hour rotating shifts with overtime figured in, paid vacation, holidays and sick leave. Scott County Sheriff's Office provides uniforms, duty equipment, duty weapon, AR-15 patrol rifles, shotgun and taser.

SALARY: DOQ, No less than $14.00 for uncertified personal.
21 years of age and older. High School Diploma or GED. Valid Drivers License. No Felony or serious misdemeanors convictions. Bilingual is a plus. KLETC graduate with current certification. No Domestic Violence issues. We will train the right person.
