Jailer, Scott County Sheriff's Office

The Scott County Jail Facility is an 23 bed facility located in Scott City, KS. In addition to housing local inmates, the Scott County Facility also provides inmate housing for several surrounding counties. The Jailers work 12 and some 8 hour shifts. Shifts can be rotating or set shifts. The Jailer position is responsible for the daily management of inmates and the facility. Duties include the booking and release of inmates, maintaining safety and security, documenting and maintaining records of inmate activities, feeding, laundry, visitation monitoring, addressing inmate requests, performing security checks, and conflict resolution are just some of the daily duties.

TYPE:  Full Time

SALARY:  Starting salary ranges $12.00 an hour with no experience to $13.00 with experience. 

Uniforms and equipment provided.

Paid Holidays.

Vacation and Sick Leave pay.

Single Plan paid BC/BS insurance

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

No experience is required. 18 years of age or older.

Pass a background investigation and drug analysis.  
 
High School Diploma or GED
 
Possess a valid KS Driver License.
 
US Citizen.

Bilingual a plus.
