The City of Spring Hill is accepting applications for a full-time, exempt Chief of Police overseeing the activities of the Police Department under the supervision of the City Administrator.The Police Chief is responsible for directing and overseeing the activities and operations of the Police Department; maintaining enforcement of applicable federal, state and local laws and ordinances; coordinating assigned activities with other City departments and outside agencies; participating in high level organizational decision making. The Police Chief has internal control over police activities and personnel and exercises discretion in the administration of the department.
Hours: Full Time
Salary: Salary dependent on qualification within the range of $105,476 to $142,376. Must reside in Spring Hill city limits.
Qualifications: Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, Criminology, Police Science, Criminal Justice, Public Administration or other relevant field. Experience may substitute for degree at a one to one ratio. Requires the possession of a valid driver’s license in good standing; must be certified by Kansas Law Enforcement Training Commission.
This position requires Fifteen (15) years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience with 10 years supervisory experience.
