Chief of Police, Tonganoxie Police Department

The City of Tonganoxie is seeking an energetic leader with exceptional public relations skills to serve as Police Chief. The ideal Police Chief will have strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated leadership experience, adept public relations, budgeting and capital planning experience, tactical competence, and a proven work ethic.

TYPE:  Full Time

SALARY:  The salary range for the position is $68,914 - $92,500 per year plus a competitive benefits package. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. 

The City also has a generous performance management program, with the opportunity to receive up to 5% merit increases each year based on exceptional performance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Qualified individuals will have four years of experience as a police chief, deputy/assistant, or position of similar responsibility. A bachelor of criminal justice, law enforcement, public administration, or related fields is strongly desired. A masters in public administration or related fields is preferred.
