Human Resources is accepting applications for a Police Officer or a Police Officer Trainee, in the University Police Department. Assigned shift hours and supervisor change frequently. All officers are required to be available to work any shift and any day as assigned to provide 24 hour, 365 days per year campus coverage. SALARY: Entry rate for Police Officer is $17.01 per hour and the Police Officer Trainee is $15.50 per hour. Washburn has an excellent fringe benefits package.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Required Qualifications to be considered for the Police Officer or Police Officer Trainee: High school diploma or GED. Ability to work any shift or hours as assigned and to respond to emergency call-back in a reasonable amount of time. Proficiency using desktop, windows-based computer operating systems and proven ability to learn and adapt to the use of new computer software. Valid class C driver's license with acceptable driving record under University standards. Must be at least 21 years of age. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of firearms. No arrests for domestic violence, stalking, dating violence or any classification of these crimes. No convictions for any felony crime. Ability to pass a written examination, polygraph examination, psychological examination, drug testing examination and verbal interview.
