Chief of Police, Yates Center Police Department

The City of Yates Center is a town of 1,350 located in Woodson County.
The current police chief is retiring after 32+ years as police chief.
The police department operates with a chief, deputy chief, one full-time police officer, and two part-time police officers.
The chief works some weekends and some holidays.  The chief may have to work some night shifts.
The police chief conducts investigations and performs routine police duties as well as administrative duties.

TYPE:  Full Time



A high school diploma or equivalent is required.  A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in criminal justice, public administration, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
Must have or be able to obtain Kansas certification as a law enforcement officer.
