The Scott City Police Department is looking for a dispatcher to join our team. Our dispatchers provide service to all emergency services in Scott County. Dispatchers are expected to answer phone calls, enter citations, process legal work, work with officers, send officers to calls for service and assist the public with many other services. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and the desire to work as a team and serve your community.
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver's license, High School Diploma/GED, and have no prior felony or disqualifying convictions.
Dispatchers work six 12 hour shifts and one 8 hour shift every two weeks. This unique schedule allows every other Friday-Sunday off work. Our benefit package is extremely competitive with 100% employer paid health insurance and KPERS retirement, sick leave, vacation, and longevity pay starting after one year of employment. We also offer tuition reimbursement for qualified college courses.
Starting salary is negotiable depending on qualifications; no experience starts at $13.87/hr.
