The City of Colby is looking for qualified applicants for the Police Officer I or II position.  Colby is a progressive community located in Northwest Kansas along Interstate 70, just 3 hours from the Colorado Rockies.  The Colby Police Department employs 13 full time officers.  The City offers an attractive benefit package including BCBS Insurance and KPERS.  Additional information on the CPD can be obtained from the City of Colby Web page at cityofcolby.com. 

Type: Full Time.  Officers work rotating 12 hour shifts with every other three day weekend off.

Salary: DOQ. Starting salary with no certification is $16.00/hr.  Lateral transfers encouraged to apply.

Minimum Qualifications:  Must be a U.S. citizen.  Must be 21 years of age.  Must have a valid driver’s license.  Must have attained a High School or GED Diploma and be able to pass all requirements to successfully attend and complete the KLETC.  The applicant must pass criminal history backgrounds, oral interviews, physical, psychological and written exams.  Applicants with any felonies, serious misdemeanors, or any Brady/ Giglio issues need not apply.
