The City of Goodland Police Department is currently accepting applications for highly motivated individuals to fulfill the position of Patrol Officer I or II. Goodland is a community of approximately 5,227 covering 4.371 sq. miles, approximately 17 miles from the Colorado border. We are a progressive law enforcement agency that employs nine (9) full-time sworn police officers including a canine officer, one (1) full-time civilian employee and one (1) part-time police officer. Patrol duties include enforcing federal, state and local laws and ordinances, investigating crimes and accidents, and providing public assistance. · Be U.S. Citizens that are at least 21 years of age at the time of hire
· Possess a High School diploma or GED.
· Have the ability to obtain a valid Kansas Driver’s License
· Have no felony convictions, diversions or expunged records
· No convictions for domestic battery
· Possess good moral character.
Applicants will be required to pass a written test, physical agility test, and an oral interview board. Final candidates will be required to pass an extensive background investigation. A conditional job offer requires the applicant pass a psychological evaluation, physical and drug screen.
