The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office is hiring for a Full-time Sheriff Deputy. Applicant must be at least 21 years of age and a United States citizen who has never been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor involving moral turpitude. 

Preference will be given to Individuals with prior Law Enforcement experience.  Starting wage is $16.00 per hour, for non-certified. $17.50 with KLETC certification. Uniforms, take-home vehicle, and equipment will be provided, paid holidays, and KP&F retirement. The county provides health and dental insurance free of charge for Employee plus dependents.  

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to; patrol work, responding to emergency calls, dispatched calls, conducting investigations, interviewing, gathering evidence, serving warrants, civil process, enforcing traffic laws, enforcing federal and state laws, preparing reports, and the ability to work with the public. Deputy in this position must be able to act without direct supervision and exercise independent judgment in handling emergencies.  The position will remain open until filled
