Police Officer, Belleville Police Department

The City of Belleville is accepting applications for a career-minded individual who wants to serve the community by protecting citizens as a Full-Time Police Officer in a full service 24-hour department. 

This position involves highly responsible work in taking calls for service, patrolling to deter and detect crime, investigating complaints, citing and/or arresting law violators. Work is performed with independence and in accordance with applicable laws, ordinances and regulations, under the general supervision of a superior officer. Person should possess good motivational, interpersonal, public relations and communications skills. A background check will be conducted.

The officers work 12 hour shifts with alternating weekends off.  

Qualifications required include:

  1. Valid Kansas Driver’s License

  2. Must be US Citizen and at least 21 years of age by application date.

  3. High School Diploma. No prior law enforcement experience required.

  4. No felony or domestic violence convictions permitted.

  5. KLETC Certification preferred or upon hiring, the successful completion of KLETC training.

  6. Applicant must be able to pass a background check, oral interview, and a physical and mental health evaluation.

  7. Drug/alcohol testing may be required after provisional offer of employment.
