The Kechi Police Department is seeking a motivated individual to join our department as a full-time Police Officer. Our department is looking for a professional, motivated person with strong moral character, who has an interest in protecting and serving the residents of a small family-oriented community which takes great pride in its small-town feel.

Applicants should possess a community orienting policing mindset, and should possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. The position is responsible for providing public safety, enforcing local, state, and federal laws, investigating crimes and traffic accidents, serving, and protecting the community and building strong working partnerships with the community and stakeholders.

Qualified candidates must be 21 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license, have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, and have no felony, serious misdemeanor, or domestic violence convictions.

State Certified Officers are preferred, but not required.

Salary DOQ, pay range $48,310 - $60,336 consideration given for qualifications and experience. In addition to salary, the city provides a benefit package to include enrollment in the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System, Blue Cross/Blue Shield health insurance with 95% of health premiums covered by the City, YMCA Membership options, sick-time, vacation, and holidays.

Candidate(s) must be able to pass a background investigation, drug testing, physical exam, psychological exam, and any additional requested testing.
