The Animal Control Officer enforces state and local laws dealing with the care, treatment, licensing, and impounding of animals. Employee works an assigned shift under the general supervision of the on-duty Operations Captain and carries out duties in conformance with federal, state, county, and city laws and ordinances.  Requires the exercise of independent judgment in determining a course of action and this employee is expected to handle difficult and emergency situations without assistance. Graduation from a standard high school or equivalent supplemented by practical experience performing animal care, maintenance or control of domestic or wild animals or any combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, ability and skill.  Requires the possession of a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.  Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of appointment. M-F; 8:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.  Application Deadline: Open Until Filled.
