Police Officer, Columbus Police Department

The City of Columbus is now accepting applications for Police Officer I/II. This is a full-time position with a competitive benefits package. Law enforcement certification is preferred but not necessary.

Candidates must be at least 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, and a valid driver's license. The starting salary for Police Officer I is $14.76/hr. and Patrol Officer II is $16.90/hr. pay based upon experience. In addition, a shift differential of $0.50 is provided for anyone who works between the hours of 7pm and 7am.

Officers who live within 25 miles of City Hall receive take home vehicles. All uniforms and equipment are provided by the agency. Officers are scheduled on 12-hour shifts, giving them the opportunity to have every other Friday, Saturday and Sunday to spend with their friends and family.
