Police Officer, Hugoton Police Department

The Hugoton Police Department is currently taking applications for a full time Police Officer.  

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to patrol operations, responding to emergency calls, calls for service, investigations, interviewing, serving warrants, civil process, enforcing traffic laws, enforcing federal, state, and local laws, preparing reports, and community policing.  

Benefits include full family health insurance, KPERs Retirement, paid holidays, paid vacation, and accumulated sick leave.   The department provides all uniforms, equipment, body camera, and taser.  Officers work 12 hour shifts that allow for every other weekend off.  

Salary $22.84 for certified and $22.04 for non-certified, and a .16 cent quarterly raise for the first year.   

Minimum qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Must be 21 years of age

U.S. Citizen

Valid Kansas Driver’s License

No Felony convictions or Domestic Violence convictions

Applicants must be able to pass a background investigation, drug screening, medical evaluation, and psychological evaluation.
