The Elk County Sheriff's Office is accepting application for a Full Time Deputy. The Sheriff's Office is looking to hire someone with previous certification as a Kansas law enforcement officer but is not required for a starting deputy.

Hourly pay will be based on applicant's qualifications, certifications, experience. Benefits include Health Care, KPERS, Vacation, & Sick leave.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. is required.
  • Applicant must possess a valid Kansas driver's license. Applicant cannot have any Felony or Domestic Violence Convictions to include any diversions or expungements. Applicant must be 21 years of age to apply.
  • You will be required to pass a physical and a Drug and Alcohol test.
