The City of Halstead is accepting applications for a full-time Police Officer. Successful candidates will be professional and motivated, with strong moral character and an interest in protecting and serving the residents of a small community. Candidates should possess a community-oriented mindset and excellent verbal and written communication skills. The police department has 5 full time officers compromised of the Chief, Deputy Chief, K9 Officer and 2 patrol officers.
The hiring salary is dependent of experience with yearly raises. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older, possess a valid Kansas Driver's License, and be able to pass a background check. Candidates should be self-motivated, community-oriented, able to work with limited supervision, and have the highest level of integrity. High School Diploma or GED required. Must be able to pass a background check, drug screen, and psychological exam. Basic typing skills are required.

One year of law enforcement experience is preferred, but not required. Graduation from a Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center or reciprocating training center is also preferred.
