School Resource Officer, Garden City Police Department

The City of Garden City, Kansas, is accepting applications for a Law Enforcement School Resource Officer.  This is a full time law enforcement position with the Garden City Police Department assigned as full time School Resource Officer. The School Resource Officer will also be charged with teaching law related classes, establishing and cultivating interpersonal relationships with students and staff at their respective schools.  Hours are Monday through Friday from 7 A.M until 5 P.M with overtime opportunities for school related activities. Typical Qualifications

Interested persons must be a U.S. Citizen, 21 yrs. of age, possess an H.S. diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and be a Kansas Certified Law Enforcement Officer (or the ability to attend a Kansas Reciprocity Certification course). The Garden City Police Department offers an excellent benefits pkg, including health insurance, vacation leave, sick leave, and KP&F retirement benefits. The selection process includes an oral interview board, background investigation, polygraph or truth verification testing, psychological evaluation, medical exam, physical testing and urinalysis/drug screen. 

Salary Range:  $22.19 - $32.35  (Depending on Qualifications & Years of Prior Law Enforcement Service)
