The City of Tonganoxie currently has a vacant Police Officer position.  Minimum Requirements for Position: Applicants must be 21 years of age, a United States Citizen, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and good moral character.  Applicant cannot have felony or domestic violence arrests. Law Enforcement certified preferred but not mandatory.  The city of Tonganoxie is based on the west side of the Kansas City metro area just minutes from the Legends shopping area, Nascar track and tons of entertainment. We have excellent schools including one of the state’s largest elementary schools. Officers work 12 hour shifts with every other weekend off. We have 13 full time certified Officers and 1-3 part time Officers. We offer bonuses for FTO and school resource officer with advancement opportunities to Corporal and Sergeant.

The Police Officer annual salary begins at $46,561 but experience and education may dictate a higher range for lateral candidates.
