The Kansas Department of Transportation Traffic Safety team is seeking a well-qualified candidate with law enforcement experience to fill an open Law Enforcement Liaison (LEL) position. 

This is a full-time contract position for KDOT and contract will be a from date of award through September 30, 2020 with two subsequent one-year renewals and is dependent upon available federal funding.

The successful candidate will be responsible for covering southeast Kansas.  KDOT LEL’s promote KDOT traffic safety programming, recruit law enforcement mobilization participation, and provide support and information to all Kansas Law Enforcement agencies.  LEL’s work to increase the effectiveness of traffic law enforcement, especially in those efforts related to occupant protection, speed, impaired and distracted driving, and underage drinking. 

This position requires a self-motivated person who can work well with minimal supervision and is a great opportunity for a retired law enforcement officer.
