The Coffey County Sheriff’s Office is accepting application for a full time deputy. The Sheriff’s Office is looking to hire someone with previous certification as a Kansas law enforcement officer but is not required for a starting deputy.  Position will include performing routine patrol, criminal investigations, arrest and traffic related duties. Deputy Sheriff residency may be waived, if deputy resides with in 1 hour or 45 miles response time to the Coffey County Sheriff’s Office. 


Salary:

Starting salary is $17.84 an hour plus benefits. Hourly pay could be higher depending on applicant’s qualifications and certifications. All equipment will be supplied along with a take home vehicle. 


Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or G.E.D. is required. Applicant must possess a valid Kansas driver’s license. Applicant cannot have any Felony or Domestic Violence Convictions to include any diversions or expungements. Applicant must be 21 years of age to apply. You will be required to pass a physical and a Drug and Alcohol test.
