The Ness County Sheriffs Office is looking for career-minded individuals who want to serve their community by protecting its citizens as Deputy Sheriff and K9 Deputy Sheriff. The work schedule includes 12-hour shifts which provides for 3 days off each week including every other weekend off. Some weekends and holidays required. 

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen & at least 21 years of age

  • . No felony or domestic violence convictions permitted. 

  • Valid driver’s license & High School Diploma or GED required. 

  • Law Enforcement Certification, College Degree & Military Experience preferred but not required. 

Paid on-the-job training for the right candidate. All Deputies are required to live within the boundaries of Ness County within 180 days of employment. Job offers contingent on pre-employment tests.

COMPENSATIONS & BENEFITS 

Salary range begins at $15.56/hr.. for uncertified officers, certified pay range depends on experience & certification. The Ness County Sheriffs Office offers great benefits including Blue Cross/Blue Shield Health insurance, KPERS retirement and others.
