Do you want to serve in a progressive Kansas small town? We have the most up to date equipment for an agency our size. Even if you want to just start out and get experience, we are right for you. Work experience gained are working drug cases, burglary, person crimes, traffic enforcement, and a chance to work with some very good role models. If this fits your goals, then the Marysville Police Department has a place for you. We have an immediate opening for a Police Officer.

Those that apply should be willing to work 12-hour shifts, Holidays, night shifts and in extreme weather elements.

We are looking for someone that interacts in our community with our citizens young and old. Prior experience in law enforcement or the military is a plus. Show the ability to communicate well in person, over the phone and over the radio with another police department. Minimum requirements are KLETC graduate preferred but not required, high school graduate, 21 years of age, valid Kansas driver’s license and a clean driving record, excellent health, U.S. citizen and no criminal record.

Applicants must successfully complete a preliminary background check and a written exam. Applicants recommended for hire will be required to successfully complete an oral interview with the Chief of Police and civilian board. A post offer drug screen, psychological and physical exams will follow. Any non-certified new hire will have to complete 14 weeks at the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center in Hutchinson Kansas. Then that person must meet state and dept. required standards of firearms and in-service training.

The City of Marysville offers paid single person health insurance, employee family pool passes, health and dental family plans, KPERS retirement, 54 hours of vacation starting after the first year of employment. Paid holidays, sick leave, and City paid membership to our local fitness gym.
