Police Officer, Grandview Plaza Police Department

The City of Grandview Plaza, Kansas is accepting applications for a full-time police Officer. Grandview Plaza a small community located in Geary County between Junction City and Fort Riley. The Police Department consists of 7 Officers to include the Chief of Police. The Department attempts to maintain a safe and orderly environment so our citizens may live at ease in a safe and crime free community with a high quality of life. 

Hours: Full-time

Salary: $17.09/hour (uncertified) and $18.09/hour (Certified) & eligible for overtime. 100% employer paid BC/BS health insurance & dental premiums for employees and family members, KPERS, optional life insurance, paid vacation and sick time and paid holidays   

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older;

  • Must be a United States Citizen.

  • Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record;

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent;

  • Must be in good physical condition;

  • Must not have been convicted of a crime of domestic violence, certain misdemeanor crimes or any felony or its equivalent under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Must not have any Brady Giglio issues.

  • Must live within a 45-minute response time

  • Prefer KLETC certified or eligible for reciprocity; but are willing to train the right applicant. 

An extensive background investigation including previous employment history, references (both listed and unlisted), criminal history, and driving record will be conducted in addition to a psychological examination, physical examination, and drug screen.
