Police Officer, Lyons Police Department

The Lyons Police Department is searching for highly motivated individuals for the full time position of Police Officer. Lyons is located in Rice County, central Kansas. Those selected to fill open positions will be enforcing local, state, and federal laws, as well as investigating crimes, enforcing traffic regulations, investigating traffic accidents, assisting the public, and serving in a department that embraces the community policing philosophy. State certified officers are preferred, but when applicants are not certified, full training will be provided, if selected. All uniforms and some equipment including exterior vests are furnished. Included is a generous benefits package, paid holidays, sick, and vacation time. 

Requirements: Applicants must be 21 years of age at the time of application, and have a high school diploma or equivalent, with a clean criminal record, and vision correctable to 20/20. Work schedule requires weekend, holiday, rotating shift work, overtime, and court appearances. Certified law enforcement applicants must not have any Brady/Giglio material in background to be eligible for hiring.

Pay range is dependent on applicant qualifications.
