The Wabaunsee County Sheriff’s Office is currently taking applications for two (2) full-time Deputies.  Applicants must be able to work weekends, nights and holidays.  This position is responsible for performing uniformed patrol duty and enforcing all federal, state, local and county laws. 


  • High School diploma or GED

  • Valid Kansas Driver’s License

  • KLETC Certification preferred but not required. Applicant will be required to attend and graduate from KLETC.

  • Must pass a background check, psychological evaluations, drug screen and physical

  • Must be at least 21 years old


  • Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS)

  • Health Insurance after 30 days

  • Vacation

  • Sick Leave

  • Paid Holidays

  • Uniforms and gear provided

Salary starts at $15.00/hour with an increase after 6 months.
