The City of Smith Center, Kansas is accepting applications for a full-time Police Officer.  Smith Center population is approximately 1,600. 

Salary based on qualifications.

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, possess a valid driver’s license, and either be law enforcement certified or willing to obtain certification once employed.  Applicants must not have any felony or serious misdemeanor convictions or any Brady-Giglio issues.  Applicant must have good communication and writing skills as well as being able to interact with the public in a positive manner.  Must be physically and mentally fit to perform all duties required for the position.  A position offer will be contingent on the results of a background investigation, medical exam, and psychological test.
