It is a privilege to be a member of an organization of dedicated professionals like yourselves, it is an even greater honor to serve as your President. The upcoming year will be filled with opportunities for growth and enhancement within our organization. For the past 21 years, Ed Klumpp has demonstrated what a legislative liaison and lobbyist can do for Kansas law enforcement. Together, we will move forward relying on participation from members across the state.
Our annual conference last month was a tremendous success. This three-day event included relevant training, networking and collaboration, and access to vendors representing a variety of service industries. The Executive Board and Training Coordinator have already begun work on the 2027 conference, which will again be held in Wichita. As we continue to build out the training curriculum, I ask each of you to contact your District Governor with any training requests or debrief topics you would like to see presented. Several first-time attendees commented on how impressed they were with the conference and said they looked forward to returning next year. This is a cost-effective way to invest in your own professional development, as well as those within your agency.
I look forward to continuing the KPOA’s 110-year tradition of service and professionalism.
Joe Sudduth, President
Kansas Peace Officers’ Association
