The Kansas Law Enforcement Memorial is located on the northeastern corner of the state capitol grounds. The memorial honors law enforcement officers, who by virtue of their commitment to uphold the law and protect the citizens of Kansas, gave their lives in service to the people of this state.

The need to expand the memorial and create more space to honor Kansas’ future, fallen officers is a sobering reminder of what every law enforcement officer risks each day they report for duty.
The expansion is designed to symbolize the long-lasting ripple effect each officer has on their community, with a new outer ring embracing the original monument. Constructed of the same granite used in the 2004 reconstruction, the outer ring will provide space for 384 plates, should additional tributes become necessary.
Standing sentinel at each entry, bollards emitting a soft blue light will remind visitors of the service Kansas law enforcement officers provide. The same blue light, integrated into the outer ring, echoes the promise that we will not forget the fallen officers’ sacrifice.
The Memorial’s expansion cost for is $382,296.24, which is being paid for with funds donated by citizens, individual law enforcement officers and agencies, families, businesses, foundations and a host of other generous contributors. Expansion completion is anticipated in the coming months. For more information on the Kansas Law Enforcement Memorial, please go to https://www.kansaslawenforcementmemorial.com/.
