Kansas Anti-Human Trafficking Training: A Multidisciplinary Focused Approach

This training will provide an overview of human trafficking in Kansas, review Kansas human trafficking laws, discuss vulnerabilities that may place a child at risk for trafficking, explore the impact of trauma on victims and appropriate responses, clarify the roles of different disciplines and address the importance of a collaborative approach. The purpose of this training is to promote coordination and local collaboration in human trafficking investigations in Kansas. The target audience is child welfare professionals, members of law enforcement, Child Advocacy Center staff, Juvenile Services KDOC staff and secure facility personnel.

Core Competencies:

  • Participants will improve multi-disciplinary team (MDT) responses to human trafficking cases, gather information about improving or establishing a formal MDT in their own communities, identify gaps and develop short and long term response plans with the help of SME's.
