WHAT TO BRING:  This is a hands-on course, students  are required to bring a laptop or  tablet with internet access.

This one-day course is designed to equip law enforcement officers with advanced investigative  skills using Tower Dumps, Area Searches, and Timing Advance technology to effectively identify  suspects and solve complex cases. With the end of Google Geofence capabilities, the course  explores alternative methods, including cellular data exploitation and integrating modern tools  like Connected Vehicle data. Participants will learn the principles of cellular networks, how  devices interact within them, and how to analyze Tower Dumps and specialized location  records. Additionally, the course covers Timing Advance technology for precise geographic  searches, integrating these methods with traditional investigative tools, and ensuring  adherence to legal and ethical guidelines. 

Course Objectives: 

• Understand the principles of cellular networks and Timing Advance technology and  their applications in investigations. 
• Learn how to create targeted search areas using both Tower Dumps and Timing  Advance technology. 
• Analyze cellular records, including Tower Dumps, to identify potential leads and  suspects. 
• Apply legal and ethical considerations in the use of cellular and geographic data. • Utilize specialized location records, advanced area searches, and Connected Vehicle  data in investigations. 
• Develop skills in interpreting and visualizing Timing Advance data for investigative  purposes. 
• Integrate Timing Advance and Tower Dump data with other investigative tools to  enhance case-solving efforts. 
• Apply learned methodologies to solve real-world complex criminal cases using both  theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice. 

Learning Outcome: 

Upon completing this course, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to  effectively use Tower Dumps, Area Searches, and Timing Advance technology in their  investigations, allowing them to solve complex cases more efficiently and contribute to public  safety with confidence.
