Course Description:

Based on the principles that leadership is intentional, impactful, and begins with self, this training is designed to empower participants. The goal of this training is to explore the significant impact of proficient leadership and communication on individuals, teams, and organizations while highlighting generational differences. Tailored for new supervisors, this course aims to cultivate the confidence and proficiency required to lead with integrity and excellence. Through fostering discussions within a nurturing learning setting, this program enables emerging leaders to make a positive influence on their organizations. Former DEA Special Agent Brian Townsend, who is MOCIC's Law Enforcement Training Coordinator, and Aaron Shipley, MOCIC Training and Outreach Coordinator, work together to deliver a comprehensive 8-hour training for the development of a leadership mindset.

Core Competencies: 

  • Managing Self: Participants will learn to harness one's emotions, thoughts, and behaviors effectively in different situations and to achieve goals and aspirations.
  • Leading People: Participants will lead and engage people to maximize organizational performance.

Learning Objectives: 

  • Understanding of leadership skills related to individual, team and group levels. 
  • Understanding of the dynamics of effective leadership and communication. 
  • Understanding of the dynamics of generational differences in the workplace.
