The 2025 KPOA Annual Firearms Competition will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. hosted by Trigger Guard Shooting Range located at 313 N Meridian in Wellington. Lunch is provided and an Awards Ceremony is held immediately after the match. Vendors will be on sight with displays and give-a-ways. A drawing will be held at the end of the match to give away prizes. The Association uses tablets with Practiscore to register and score the match allowing for results as soon as the last shooter is finished.
DIVISIONS:
There are four divisions in the KPOA Shooting event.
- Law Enforcement Stock
- Law Enforcement Carry Optics
- Civilian Stock
- Civilian Carry Optics. The rules and procedures for Carry Optics division are the same the Pistol Match, except for the sights. Electronic Optics with no magnification are allowed.
The KPOA Pistol Match is an all Steel, 3 stage course and consists of three different stages, Speed Plates, Speed Pyramid, and Line of Steel. These stages not only stress speed and accuracy, but also give the competitors experience in engaging multiple targets at varied sizes and distances.
All four divisions shoot the same courses of fire with the same rules. At the end of the match the top Civilian shooter and the top Law Enforcement shooter will compete in a head to head shoot off to determine the best overall shooter and win the Old Masters Award.
Team Competition
- Teams may be formed from 3 competitors of the same division.
- The team registration form must be completed during the match registration.
- Team members will compete as individuals, with their final total times of all three (3) pistol events being added together as their team time.
**NEW** RIFLE / PCC MATCH **NEW**
A new Rifle/PCC Match has replaced the Shotgun Match of years past.
There will be 2 divisions, Rifle and PCC
The Rifle/PCC match is a single stage event consisting of 25 steel targets. The course is fired from a single shooting position with minimal movement required. Rifles must be .223/5.56 caliber and PCC (Pistol Caliber Carbines) must be 9mm, 40, 10mm, or 45acp. Sights can be any iron or non-magnified optic.
You will start with (2) magazines of 15 rounds each, for a total of 30 rounds.
Start position will be standing low ready with weapon loaded and chambered with a 15-round magazine, safety on
At the start signal shooter will engage all 25 targets with 30 rounds. 1 reload is required. Shooters can choose to shoot the targets from any of the following 3 positions. Standing non-supported, Kneeling or Prone
Targets must fall to count as a hit. Any plate not hit is a 5 second penalty. Your time is your score.
