Crisis Intervention Training 

Two-Day Course | 16 Hours Total 

Presented by Master Patrol Officer Sinjin Andrews, Emporia PD
Organized by KPOA District 2 Governors 

Course Summary: This training provides officers with: 

  • An overview of common mental illnesses encountered in the field 
  • Recognition of how symptoms may be masked by drug or alcohol use 
  • Practical de-escalation techniques for individuals in crisis 
  • Officer wellness awareness, including recognizing signs of suicide risk among peers • A review of state statutes and police protective custody requirements
