Police Officer, Belleville Police Department

The City of Belleville, Kansas is seeking to fill the position of Police Officer 1. Belleville Police serve a community of 2000 people and work a 12 hour shift schedule with alternating weekends off.

  • Benefits include health insurance, dental insurance, KP and F Retirement, paid vacation and sick leave, holiday pay and more.  Uniforms and equipment are provided.
  • Pay depending on qualifications and experience. Starting wage for pre-academy non-certified officers is $18.00.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving history
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prefer law enforcement certified but willing to train the right applicant
  • Physically and mentally able to perform officer duties
  • Must not have any felony or serious misdemeanor convictions; or any Brady-Giglio issues
  • Possess good communication and writing skills
  • Ability to interact with the public in a positive manner
  • Willing to work night shift to include alternating weekends, and holidays.
