The City of Scott City is seeking Entry Level or Lateral Transfer applicants for the position of Police Officer. The Scott City Police Department is a modern, well equipped agency that serves a population of approx. 4,200.  We have excellent schools that are state of the art.  We are comprised of nine officers, four dispatchers, one administrative assistant.  Our Department provides an opportunity to advance to positions such as Sergeant, Detective and K-9 Handler, and SRO.

TYPE:  Full Time
SALARY:  Starting pay ranges from $19.14(No experience) - $27.34 per hour based on experience (approx. $3 per hour additional increase starting in 2025) with 100% city paid family medical insurance, paid holidays, paid vacation, sick leave, funeral leave, KP&F as well as other benefits.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

Must be at least 21 years of age
Must be a legal US Citizen
Must possess a valid KS Driver's License
Have a High School diploma or GED
Possess good moral character
Cannot have any felony convictions
Cannot have serious misdemeanor convictions
No Brady/Giglio issues
