The City of Yates Center KS is currently taking applications for Full Time (84 hours every two weeks) Police Officer to fill open positions within the department. The department is a four-officer department, with a family friendly environment.
Yates Center is a city of approximately 1,500 people located in Woodson County, KS. Yates Center Police Officers may be required to work 12-hour shifts, holidays, nights and weekends as assigned.
TYPE: Full Time
SALARY: Entry level Police Officers can start at approximately $19.00/hr. with raises after 90 probation, and graduation from KLETC.
Starting salary for Lateral entry Police Officers is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: No previous experience necessary.
Must have or be able to graduate KLETC within one (1) year of employment.
Education: High School diploma or GED. Possession of a valid driver’s
license is mandatory.
Applicants must be 21 years of age.
Applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check with no felony
or major misdemeanor convictions.
Applicants must be able to communicate proficiently.
Applicants must be able to pass a drug screen.
Applicants must pass a physical exam.
Applicants must be clear from any Brady Giglio issues.
