The City of Goodland Police Department is currently accepting applications for highly motivated individuals to fulfill the position of Patrol Officer I or II. Goodland is a community of approximately 4,700 covering 4.371 sq. miles, approximately 17 miles from the Colorado border.
Hours: 12-Hour Shifts with a Bi-Weekly pay schedule

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be 21 years of age or older.

Have the ability to obtain a valid Kansas Driver’s License

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
-
Must be physically and mentally able to perform law enforcement duties

Must not have been convicted of a crime of domestic violence, certain misdemeanor crimes, or any felony. You must not have any Brady-Giglio issues.

Possess good moral character

If you are not law enforcement certified (Through Kansas or out of state) we will pay you while you attend the 14-week academy, including travel and meals!
We are a progressive law enforcement agency that employs (10) full-time sworn police officers including a canine officer, (1) corporal, (2) sergeants, (1) full-time civilian employee, and (1) part-time police officer. There are many opportunities within the PD, including firearm instructors, defensive tactic instructors, less lethal instructors, field training officer(s), and many others.
Patrol duties include enforcing federal, state, and local laws and ordinances, investigating crimes and accidents, and providing public assistance. Applicants must pass a written test, physical agility test, and an oral interview board. Final candidates will be required to pass an extensive background investigation. A conditional job offer requires the applicant to pass a psychological evaluation, physical and a drug screen.
