The McPherson County Sheriff's Department is accepting applications for a Full-time Deputy Sheriff position.  Responsibilities include, but limited to,: providing general law enforcement services to those within the jurisdictional limits of the agency, preserve public peace, protect life and property, prevent crime and protect the constitutional rights of all persons encountered. All work equipment will be supplied including a take home vehicle.  McPherson County offers competitive benefits and paid time off. EOE

Qualifications

Applicants must successfully pass a criminal background investigation, psychological examination, drug and alcohol screening, a written test and physical agility examination.

Special Requirements

Position requirements include but are not limited to: United States citizen, high school diploma or equivalent, 21 years of age, valid Kansas driver's license, good moral character and no felony or domestic violence convictions and residing within 20 miles of the McPherson County line.

Salary

Hourly non-certified persons starting at $23.30 and certified persons starting at $24.24 per hour.
